Wesley Adams: From England to Oakland!
Cultural/Historical Context
Connections to Home Wesley Adams purchased this etching of Shakespeare's Birthplace to decorate the home he'd just built in Oakland as a reminder of his roots back in England. It hung in his parlor ever since. He regularly showed it to his children and grandchildren and talked about the history of the place, his origins and of his beloved Shakespeare.
